Feed a crowd with this delicious and easy to make Shredded BBQ Beef Sandwich recipe. This recipe will make a basic, tasty sandwich. You can customize it by adding toppings like pickles, fried onions, jalapeño peppers, coleslaw, shredded cheese, and more. We like to use a little bit of inexpensive whiskey in the cooking liquid. We think this helps add a smoky flavor without using artificial smoke. You can use all beef broth if you prefer not to use the whiskey. Total Time

8.5+ hrs

Yield

Feeds 10-15 people
  • 1 Leahy's Angus Beef Boneless Chuck Roast
  • LGCM Kansas City Rump Rub ( or your favorite BBQ rub)
  • 1/4 cup Whiskey ( use inexpensive whiskey, or substitute beef broth)
  • 1/4 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 Onion ( chopped)
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Burger Buns ( for serving)

Directions

  • 1

Liberally season all sides of the chuck roast with the LGCM Kansas City Rump Rub. Add the whiskey, beef broth, and onion to the bottom of a slow cooker, then place the chuck roast on top. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

  • 2

After cooking, the roast should easily pull apart. Use two forks to shred the beef in the slow cooker. Mix the shredded meat with the cooking liquid, and then pour in BBQ sauce to your taste. Mix the meat and sauce together until combined.

  • 3

Use the slow cooker to keep the shredded beef warm until serving, or let guests serve themselves out of the slow cooker. Serve on top of burger buns with your choice of extra toppings. Enjoy!
