Make a simple red wine sauce to put on top of your favorite beef dish. You can easily make this recipe at home with ingredients you have around the house while your beef is roasting. Watch Nick and his Uncle Mark show you how to make both a white wine and red wine sauce in the recipe video below. Pour the olive oil into a medium size skillet and heat it over medium high heat.
Once oil is heated, add the garlic and onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat until they are both translucent.
Once the onion and garlic are cooked, pour in the wine and broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Once boiling, add mushrooms to the sauce. Make sure the mushrooms are covered with liquid, adding more red wine and broth in equal parts if necessary to cover the mushrooms.
Whisk all the ingredients together, bring the mixture to a boil, and then reduce heat so that the mixture is simmering.
Simmer the sauce until it is reduced by half and serve on top of your favorite beef items like a New York Strip Roast!
