Proper Preparation is key to enjoying your Leahy’s Sausage. Here are our recommended cooking instructions:

Leahy’s Precooked Sausage (packaged in clear plastic packaging):

Keep refrigerated until ready to cook.
Remove sausage from packaging. You can now soak the brats in beer, onions, or other flavorings if you wish for at least 20 minutes prior to cooking.
Using a medium heat, cook your sausages for approximately 6 minutes per side or until done. You can use a grill, broiler, or frying pan, depending on what is available.
Let sit for 2 minutes and enjoy!

Leahy’s Fresh Sausage (Wrapped in white butcher paper):

Keep refrigerated until ready to cook.
Remove sausage from paper.
Place brats in a pot of cold water (or beer, onions and other flavorings if desired) and bring the water to a boil.
Reduce heat, and let the brats simmer for 15 minutes. The water will turn foamy, and the brats will turn grey as they cook.
Remove the brats from the water, and using a medium heat, cook your sausages for approximately 6 minutes per side or until done. You can use a grill, broiler, or frying pan, depending on what is available.
Let sit for 2 minutes and enjoy!

Lake Geneva Country Meats’ Ham is already fully cooked in our smokehouses, and fully ready to eat. However, many people like to heat it prior to serving. Follow these directions to avoid drying out your ham.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Look at the label to see how much your ham weighs.
Heat the ham for approximately 8 minutes per pound, or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Let sit 5 minutes before carving.

Prime Rib is a delicious holiday treat. Here’s our tips on how to cook one to perfection.

Ingredients:

1 Lake Geneva Country Meats Prime Rib
1 Shaker Lake Geneva Country Meats Ultimate Steak and Rib Roast
Set roast on counter and bring to room temperature, about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Rub roast liberally with the Ultimate Steak and Roast Rub. Place in shallow roasting pan uncovered. Bake for 15 minutes at 500 degrees. Turn oven down to 350 degrees and continue roasting prime rib 15 minutes per pound. Use meat thermometer. Remove roast from oven when thermometer reads at 125-130 degrees for rare. Let roast stand for 15 minutes before carving. Temperature will rise another 5 degrees while resting. Roast for 20 minutes per pound if medium rare slices are desired.
