Lake Geneva Country Meats is a family owned and operated business since 1965, located just 3 ½ short miles east of Lake Geneva on Hwy 50. John and Rita Leahy started the business together operating with just a few employees strictly as a custom slaughtering plant. Through the years the business has evolved into a multi-faceted enterprise with over 20 employees that is managed by the daughters and sons-in laws of John and Rita. Not only do we slaughter and custom process animals for the home freezer, we run a large sausage operation, wholesale business, and have a very busy retail store featuring all our own cuts of beef, pork, lamb, hams, bacons and dozens of varieties of fresh and cooked sausages. We are a USDA federally inspected operation that has a federal meat inspector on the premises each day. The highest standards of safety and sanitation are followed at our plant and cleanliness and quality are a highly valued premium in our business.

Our Retail Market
Visit our fantastic Retail Store and let our friendly staff help you select the finest cuts of Top Choice Meats to serve your family and friends. When you step into our store you will find a full service fresh meat case filled with Beef, Pork, Chicken and Sausage. We have a deli case filled with over 2 dozen varieties of Wisconsin Cheese and Luncheon Meats including our own Smoked Ham, Summer Sausage, Bologna and much more. To compliment your meat purchases we have a huge variety of gourmet condiments and pantry items to help you round out your meal. We also carry fresh produce, eggs, butter, milk and bread to make this an easy one stop shop for your dinners. Just like the old- fashioned corner store of yesteryear.

Our Sausage Kitchen
Our sausage kitchen produces more than 50 individual fresh and/or cooked products. We grind all our meat on site, do all the mixing and blending of ingredients in our sausage kitchen and cook the sausage in our smokehouses. We use only the finest and freshest ingredients available. We make a popular Portabella Mushroom & Swiss Cheese bratwurst that features fresh portabella mushrooms from the River Valley Mushroom Farm, located just few doors down from our store. Our famous Cherry Brats feature a family cherry recipe made fresh in Mauston, WI. We have won more than 100 awards in the past 20 years on both a state and national level. The recipes for our famous Fresh Brat comes directly from our founder, John Leahy who has now passed away, but his family has kept the tradition going strong with many varieties of fabulous bratwurst and great tasting sausages such as Summer Sausage, Landjaegger, Andouille, Breakfast Sausage, Liver Sausage, Polish and Italian Sausage, Ring Bologna and Wieners.

Our Custom Processing Division
In our custom processing division we cut and wrap halves of beef, whole pigs and lambs that are brought in from local area farmers and are sold to the individual for their home freezers. We cut to the customer's specifications, double freezer wrap everything, label each cut clearly, deep freeze the meat and box it up in sturdy containers for the customer to take home. We also process buffalo in the same fashion. We have a full crew of experienced meat cutters that trim and cut the meat to our high standards of careful trimming to give the finest quality available. There is truly a difference in the texture and tenderness of meat when it is cut correctly. We dry age all our meat which makes a difference in flavor and quality also. Another aspect of our business is supplying our customers with whole hogs for pig roasts. Our locally raised pigs are are raised to have a leaner amount of back fat and a larger loin eye, making them the best pork available for the customer's dollar. We offer lamb for the home freezer as well.
